This page will document the Safari Camper conversion I will be performing on this trailer.

I am buiding this to pull behind my Range Rover or Montero for those long range camping trips.

Some of the features I will be adding to this trailer are.

A 20 gallon Fresh water tank with electric pump.

A 12 volt solar charged electrical system.

A flip out stainless steel work surface and sink.

Gas struts and modern locks for the gull wing doors.

A rear mounted spare tire and dual jerry can mount.

All new wiring and LED tail lights.

A tongue mounted storage box for the battery and Misc.

An Engel 65 Refrigerator/Freezer.

A fresh white paint job.

Maco Mule traction wheel (back saver).

Awnings for both sides.

Rear mounted propane tanks.

Air storage tube steel bumper for rear, with receiver hitch.

All fasteners replaced with stainless steel.

Progress as of 12/21/05

I have had to put this and the rest of my projects on hold since I sold my building where I worked on them. I have put up a new 40' by 72' foot building in my back yard, but I am still in the process of finishing the interior of it. I hope to get back on it by next winter. I will post pictures at that that time.

I have pretty much purchased most of the needed equipment so it can all be fitted. Once I get it all installed, I will take it all back off so the trailer can be sandblasted and repainted. I am replacing the rear doors with a solid back so the spare and propane tanks can be mounted on there. I found a lot of good stuff at www.austinhardware.com .

This is a product of Australia. I'm not sure if they are still in business or not.
